On March 12, a research seminar of the Corporate Finance Centre was held on the topic of "Retail Investors Expectations and Systematic Investing Performance: Evidence from the Telegram Data."
On 12 March, Research Fellow Aleksandr Tomtosov presented preliminary results of a joint study, “Retail investors expectations and systematic investing performance: evidence from Telegram data”. Messages from Telegram channels and investor forums are processed using large language models; the seminar covered descriptive statistics of the dataset and first estimates of how retail investors’ preferences relate to the performance of systematic strategies on the Russian equity market.
On February 12, a research seminar of the Corporate Finance Centre was held on the topic of assessing the level of digital transformation in public companies
Egor Pashkov presented an assessment of the key dimensions of digital transformation across 1,080 BRICS companies in 2021–2023, built with a bag-of-words approach. Yanfei Wu demonstrated the shift to machine learning: a Targeted LDA model run on 13,000 annual 10-K reports isolated six independent dimensions of digital transformation.

The First Junior Meeting of Research Interns Was Held at the Corporate Finance Center
On the initiative of several research interns, the Corporate Finance Center has introduced the practice of junior meetings. These meetings are aimed at productive interaction among interns, stronger internal communication, and more effective preparation of junior researchers for the main seminars held with senior colleagues.
