Corporate Finance Center was founded in June 2006 at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The Laboratory strives to promote high-quality research on the application of financial theory and methods to real-world corporate financial policy, corporate activity, and corporate governance studies. The Laboratory's goal is to advance new knowledge for companies and to provide a platform for discussing empirical findings in corporate finance.

International Conference «ESG Corporate Dynamics: the Challenges for Emerging Capital Markets»

The HSE University Laboratory of Corporate Finance has organized this conference for the third consecutive year, dedicated to sustainable development and corporate dynamics in emerging capital markets.

On December 12–13, 2025, the conference brought together more than 30 researchers from leading universities in Russia, China, Canada, the United Kingdom, Iran, Pakistan, and Romania. The invited experts included Alexei Bogomolov, Director of Partner Program Development at the Department for Institutional, Corporate, and Key Private Clients of RSHB Asset Management LLC, who collaborates with the School of Finance in developing the "Climate Finance" course and advancing partnerships with BRICS universities.

The conference was held in a hybrid format, enabling broad international participation.

We are happy to share that the article of our colleagues Irina Ivashkovskaya and Artem Anilov titled "CEO overconfidence and payout policy: The moderating power of governance mechanisms" has been published in an upcoming issue of Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance.
