Corporate Finance Center was founded in June 2006 at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. The Laboratory strives to promote high-quality research on the application of financial theory and methods to real-world corporate financial policy, corporate activity, and corporate governance studies. International Conference «ESG Corporate Dynamics: the Challenges for Emerging Capital Markets»

ESG Conference is a truly significant platform for sharing cutting-edge research on the ESG transformation of companies in BRICS countries and other emerging capital markets.

In 2025, the conference plans to bring together leading experts and researchers from different countries worldwide to share best practices in the field of ESG.

The keynote speakers for the 2025 conference will be:

Ahmet Faruk Aysan (Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar) with a report on "Agents as Cofounders? Startup Signals of AI Adoption and Venture Funding"

Kai Wu (Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing) with a report titled "The Hidden Costs of Greening Supply Chains."

The study «Portrait of the Board of Directors – 2024» has revealed new trends in the composition and functioning of boards of directors in Russia’s largest companies.

In January 2025,  a leading international peer-reviewed journal «Sustainability» published the article «Unlocking Green Innovation Potential Amidst Digital Transformation Challenges - The Evidence from ESG Transformation in China» by the School of Finance Professor Irina Ivashkovskaya and Research Intern of Corporate Finance Center Wu Yanfei, with co-authors.

On December 20, the Faculty of Economic Sciences hosted the Third Sino-Russian Workshop on Innovations and Innovativeness, organised in collaboration with the School of Economics at Shanghai University. Three representatives from each institution, including staff and PhD students, presented at the seminar. The participants discussed factors influencing company innovativeness, the role of leaders in R&D investments, and the impact of digital transformation.
