Journal of Corporate Finance Research has been accepted for Scopus
On 2 October, the Journal of Corporate Finance Research was accepted into Scopus. The open-access journal, which uses double-blind peer review, is already on the Russian HAC list and indexed in the RSCI; inclusion in Scopus confirms its international recognition.
Research Interns of the Corporate Finance Center Talk About Their Upcoming Conferences
Research interns of the laboratory presented the papers they will deliver this summer and autumn. Alina Kostochko will present “Do M&As create value for companies from the TMT sector?” at a University of Pennsylvania conference on 5 August, Konstantin Popov will speak on the effect of boards of directors on financial performance, and Ekaterina Zagudalova and Egor Pashkov will present at the 5th Russian Economic Congress.
The First Junior Meeting of Research Interns Was Held at the Corporate Finance Center
On the initiative of several research interns, the Corporate Finance Center has introduced the practice of junior meetings. These meetings are aimed at productive interaction among interns, stronger internal communication, and more effective preparation of junior researchers for the main seminars held with senior colleagues.
Board Committees and Corporate Performance in Russia: Research Presentation on International Conference
Elena Makeeva and Konstantin Popov presented their findings at the 44th EBES Conference in Istanbul on 6–8 July. The study examines how the human capital of board committees affects the performance of Russian companies: diversity of education and experience among members of key committees is positively associated with both Tobin’s Q and ESG ratings.
